Former U.S. Congressman Doug Ose announced today that he has received the endorsement of former California Governor Pete Wilson and several members of the California Congressional delegation.

"Doug Ose is an outstanding conservative who has spent his entire life in this region," said Governor Wilson. "We both believe in rigorous enforcement of immigration laws; accountable government; and in rebuilding America's economy to protect jobs by cutting taxes. Doug is far and away the candidate we can count on to move Congress in the right direction."

Wilson has agreed to assist in Ose's congressional campaign by making appearances at events and other campaign related activities.

"I am honored to be supported by a Republican who understands the need for active leadership in D.C. and knows the commitment that\u2019s required to get things done," Ose said. "Governor Wilson understands the complexity of government and what needs to be done to simplify it. I am grateful for his confidence in my abilities to represent the District."

Wilson and Ose have known each other since Ose first took his seat in Congress in 1999. Wilson served as State Assemblyman, Mayor of San Diego, and U.S. Senator prior to assuming the office of Governor in 1991. Inheriting the state's worst economy since the Great Depression, Wilson's eight years as governor saw California go into a strong economic recovery with his insistence on strict budget discipline.

Already endorsed by over 50 elected officials, Ose continues to garner the support of elected local, state and federal Republican officials. Ose has also been endorsed by California Congressional members including Congressmen Dan Lungren, Wally Herger, Duncan Hunter, David Dreier, Jerry Lewis, Ken Calvert, George Radanovich, Darrell Issa, Buck McKeon, and Gary Miller.

Congressman Ose served in the United States House of Representatives from January 1999 through his retirement in January 2005.

Congressman Ose\u2019s numerous accomplishments in Congress touched a wide range of domestic policy issues that impact California and the nation. Congressman Ose voted for one of the largest tax cuts in American history and chaired a House Government Reform Committee, holding the IRS and other federal agencies accountable for wasting tax payer money.
